SECC Hydro Arena Glasgow

Appointed by FES

As the final bolt was secured on the roof structure of Glasgow’s impressive 12,000-seat arena, the KTE Group was proud to announce the successful completion of our involvement in the major MV and LV electrical infrastructure works for this landmark development.

Appointed by FES, the KTE Group delivered a comprehensive electrical package valued at approximately £800,000, encompassing the design, manufacture and supply of medium-voltage and low-voltage switchgear, sub-distribution equipment and mains busbar systems throughout the facility.

Constructed by international property and infrastructure specialist Lendlease as part of the wider Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) development, the arena represented one of Scotland’s most significant entertainment and sporting venue projects. The facility later played a key role in hosting events during the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, showcasing the venue on an international stage.

The project demanded the delivery of highly reliable electrical infrastructure capable of supporting the complex operational requirements of a modern multi-purpose arena, including lighting, broadcasting, hospitality, security and large-scale event power demands. Throughout the project, the KTE Group worked closely alongside the wider project delivery teams to ensure all systems were delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety and performance within demanding construction timelines.

Our involvement in this prestigious development reflects the KTE Group’s extensive experience in delivering robust electrical engineering solutions for large-scale infrastructure, commercial and public venue projects across the UK.

We are proud to have contributed to a project that remains an important part of Glasgow’s sporting and entertainment landscape.
